Is there a British film industry? - UK Film Council response
March 2003: The Culture, Media and Sport Select Committee launched an inquiry into the British film industry in November 2002. The inquiry explored: the industry's contribution to the UK economy; the importance of the capacity to make British films about Britain in Britain; the relationship between the film industry and the other creative industries; the nature of Government support; the structure and performance of the industry; and the performance and approach of the UK Film Council. As well as giving oral evidence to the Committee, the UK Film Council made a written submission which can be downloaded here.
